The National Museum is one of the most important museums in India which was opened in 1949 and displays more than two million objects which are over 5,000 years old.
The galleries are separated over three floors and are organised into chronological order. The collection includes prehistoric and archaeological objects, jewellery and paintings, as well as manuscripts, antiques, weapons and sculptures.
There are also events organised such as, guided tours, educational film sessions relating to art and culture, and seminars.
