Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory which was built in 1725 for Jai Singh II of Jaipur. It is a collection of six abstract terracotta objects which is situated in the centre of the commercial district in New Delhi, and it has a very impressive sundial which dominates the area and is renowned for its size and height.

Although the observatory no longer works, it has become one of the main tourist attractions in the city and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
