Dublin Castle

Dublin, known in Irish as Baile Átha Cliath, is the capital and largest city in the Republic of Ireland and is situated on the east coast of the Emerald Isle at the mouth of the River Liffey.

The city was founded by the Vikings more than one thousand years ago and so for this reason it has a long history and cultural legacy which can be seen in the city's monuments and architecture.

Dublin was also home to some famous Irish writers such as James Joyce, Georges Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde, as well as the famous Irish rock band U2, and each year it attracts thousands of visitors who come to see the Guinness Brewery which has become one of the world's most famous beers.
